Abio Cares Launches Pet Project: “Take Me Home Tuesdays”
Abio Cares, the public service arm of Abio Properties that is committed to supporting our East Bay community, is thrilled to announce the launch of “Take Me Home Tuesdays.”
Each Tuesday, Abio Cares will shine a spotlight on a wonderful rescue dog or cat who needs a forever home.
Photos, fun facts, and adoption details about these sweet pups and kitties will be featured on Abio’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts and on our new Abio Cares webpage.
“We like to say we find homes for more than just people,” says Abio co-founder Linnette Edwards. “And we are perfectly positioned to help these animals because we can leverage our social media channels to get the word out to a lot of people.”
Abio Cares is partnering with the award-winning East Bay animal rescue organization, ARF, founded by Baseball Hall of Famer Tony La Russa. Headquartered in Walnut Creek, ARF rescues dogs and cats from kill shelters and matches them with loving human companions.
“Because our business is hyper local, it’s important that Abio gives back to the community,” Linnette says. “This is really us. We care. Abio cares.”
It’s extra easy for us to support this East Bay animal rescue and its four-legged fluff balls since so many Abio team members have inspiring rescue stories of their own.
We actually aren’t sure who rescued whom: Abio Realtor Marco Colon’s best buds are Angus the pit mix and Penny the Australian shepherd. Abio co-founder Cameron Platt and Realtor wife Nicole belong to Arthur the terrier mix. And you might see Realtor Elisabeth Watson being walked on a beautiful East Bay trail by her Beau, a border collie.

Abio’s unofficial mascot is Bogey, a little white Maltese who is the master of Linnette and wife/Abio creative director Tammy Brown. Bogey frequently makes surprise appearances on property listing videos. (And he loves riding on Roombas, as you can see in this video.)
Abio Cares also supports a wide range of other East Bay volunteer and donation programs, including coastal cleanups, winter coat drives, packing food at the Alameda County Community food bank, and much more.
Want to join the Abio Cares team? We’d love to have you! Just send us an email using the form on our new webpage here, and we’ll be in touch about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
